  1. Responsibilities of First-Choice Driving School Inc.. 1. The school will provide the training in a timely and professional manner.2. A course outline will be explained and provided to the student/guardian prior to the signing of this contract.3. The Driver Training vehicle will be clean and in good running condition, with a valid licence plate, registration and insurance.4. Driving instructors are licensed by Alberta Transportation; the instructor's licence and operator's licence will be presented upon request.5. If the school has to cancel a lesson due to instructor illness, vehicle breakdown, etc., every effort will be made to accommodate the student and reschedule the lesson as soon as possible.6. The driving instructor will give full attention to the student during the in-vehicle lesson. The instructor's cell phone will be off and may not be used unless the vehicle is safely stopped and the student gives permission.7. An in-vehicle report card/student summary with a detailed evaluation will be completed by the instructor and explained at the completion of each lesson.
  2. Responsibilities of the Student. 1. The student must possess, at minimum, a Class 7 Alberta licence and have it in their possession during all in-vehicle training.2. The student must be a minimum of 14 years of age to receive Class 5 licence training.3. A student who attends a course offering a Driver Education Course Completion Certificate must complete the required minimum hours of training and pass the applicable examination (80% to pass the classroom examination, 75% driving skill evaluation) before receiving the Certificate.4. Any acts of negligence on the student's part that result in damages or fines will be the student's responsibility.5. Learning to drive must be taken seriously. Students are expected to give their best efforts during classroom and in-vehicle lessons. Unacceptable behaviour (drinking, drugs, swearing, continually being late, etc.) will not be tolerated, and the school may discontinue the lesson at the student's expense.6. During a Driver Training lesson, in-classroom or in-vehicle, all electronic communication devices (e.g., cell phones) are not to be used by the student.7. Students must provide 24 hours' cancellation notice of an in-vehicle lesson to allow the school time to reschedule vehicles and instructors. If a lesson is missed, a penalty equal to the cost of the lesson, or a portion thereof, will be assessed.8. The school may waive a penalty if, in its sole discretion, it determines that circumstances merit doing so.9. Course expiration: students are expected to complete their training within the applicable course validity period, calculated from the date of registration. Class 5 courses expire 24 months from the registration date. Any unused training sessions or services remaining after the course expiry date are not eligible for a refund.
  3. Cancellation, Withdrawals, Incompletion and Refund. 1. Lesson cancellations must be made at least 24 hours in advance. Cancelled lessons may be rescheduled or refunded upon request, subject to a 10% processing fee. Cancellations made within 24 hours of the scheduled lesson are subject to the full lesson charge.2. Refunds for incomplete training are available upon request, subject to a 10% processing fee.3. Course withdrawals are eligible for a refund upon request, subject to a 10% processing fee.
